Davlan specializes in CNC vertical and horizontal machining as well as CNC turning. We've designed our CNC area for maximum accuracy, speed and efficiency.

Vertical machining centers are equipped to facilitate less manual handling and more simultaneous operation. Our pallet-shuttle-type machines eliminate load time for faster production cycles. In addition, our machines are equipped with 4th-axis indexers with multiple part holding fixtures, enabling us to machine four sides of the part without removing it. This eliminates clamping errors and reduces load time. Other features include:

  • Maximum table capacity of 20" by 40" with pallet
    shuttle

  • Maximum table capacity of 5’ by 10’ on manual
    load Gantry Mill.

  • Spindle speeds up to 10000 RPM and feed rates up to 1800 inches per minute

  • Spindle probe and tool probe capability

  • Solid tapping capability for accuracy and depth control

  • Complete coolant management with biodegradable food-grade coolant

Horizontal machining centers consist of eight 500-mm, two-pallet machines with 50-taper tooling, providing ample capacity for heavy-duty cutting. All machines are equipped with tombstones to facilitate multiple-part holding. Other features include:

  • 26" cube machining capacity

  • 4x 800PSI through-spindle coolant

  • Spindle RPMs 4000 to 6000 and two high-performance machining centers of 10000 to 14000 RPMs

  • Feed rates up to 1500 inches per minute

  • Complete coolant management with biodegradable food-grade coolant

Turning centers are programmed off-line to minimize downtime. All programs are checked for accuracy before they are downloaded via RS232 to the machine. In addition, CRT displays at each machine allow for visual verification while the job is running. Davlan has multiple Okuma lathes and interchangeable machine controls maximize job-handling flexibility in our CNC turning area. Other features include:

  • 2 3/4" maximum bar feed

  • Hydro bar feed for maximum turning RPM

  • 100 PSI coolant capability with chip augers to automatically remove chips for a clean finished product

  • Spindle speeds up to 4500 RPM and feed rates up to 950 inches per minute

  • Complete coolant management with biodegradable food-grade coolant
